SUMMARY:
Specialty niche insurer is seeking a product director to provide oversight of the surety division and control the Product's Underwriting best practices. This person will act as the liaison for the product VPs and field underwriters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide oversight of the Surety division in the areas of product development, as well as, coordinating research and developing relevant data and statistical analysis.
• Assists in the development of underwriting guidelines.
• Assists the Product VP in a variety of marketing initiatives.
• Plans and coordinates special events such as annual underwriting meetings and product reviews.
• Provides general support for the field, in some cases filling a referral role.
• Develops bond forms and coordinates with other home office departments to implement into various systems, to meet filing requirements, to secure review and sign-off from claims and legal as needed.
• Assumes a key role in the planning, development and implementation of automated underwriting and support systems.
• Authors a variety of reports for the Product VP and Home Office Executives.
• Assists in development of Product VP's budgets and planning.
• Conducts audits of all underwriting activities. Prepares reports for the executive and the audit committee.
• Develops and implements SOX testing of underwriting controls.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field
• Or Degree equivalent: 15+ years of surety industry experience
• CPCU preferred
• Experience in managing/supervising people.
• 10+ years of Surety industry experience
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong business and organizations skills.
• Computer literacy/spreadsheet applications.
