SUMMARY:
New York based insurance company is seeking an experienced and successful VP Sales and Marketing. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the selected candidate will be a significant member of the management team as well as a critical person in the future growth, direction, and success of the company.
The VP is responsible for the strategic planning and direction, and daily management functions for sales and marketing operations consistent with the company goals. The ideal candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and have significant knowledge and experience in indirect channel sales and marketing to assume a very visible role and work closely with senior management.
The VP must be a strong leader and motivator to the sales team, offering high energy, sharp analytical skills, outstanding organizational skills, & communications skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Motivate, supervise and mentor the sales team.
• Develop strategic and tactical channel plans and goals to increase premium sold while maintaining a high quality book of business.
• Establish agency management goals and practices, as well as monitor progress to stated production and loss ratio goals.
• Manage the identification of prospective agents for agency appointments
• Develop strong relationships with key accounts to increase production and profitability
• Create and maintain a communications plan
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of front-end agency processing and reporting systems
• Meet with internal and external customers to manage service related issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Undergraduate degree required.
• 10+ years channel sales/marketing experience
• 3+ years senior management experience
• Must have analytical skills and demonstrated ability to identify problems and work them through to resolution.
• Excel/PowerPoint competency is essential.
• The ability to work well in a team environment with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Must be a self-starter able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
• Must be a highly organized individual
• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
